SHABBAT SERVICES
Our Shabbat services are open to the entire community. Services are filled with music and singing, reading Torah, and learning together. Children come up to the bimah every week to participate in the services. There is always an oneg.
Our service schedule is as follows: Friday evenings begin at 8:00pm from September through June except for the last Friday of month. In the summer and on the last Friday of the month, services begin at 7:30pm. Shabbat morning services begin at 10:00am and are held when there is a Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

SHABBAT DINNER
The last Friday of the month is our Shabbat dinner, which is free to everyone who attends. We do accept donations in the pushke box on each table, which pays for the next dinner. If you would like to help set up or cook Shabbat dinner for the congregation, simply arrive at the kitchen door at 4:30pm and knock. There is always work to be done and the company is always appreciated.
The doors open at 6:00pm with wine and cheese in the Social Lounge. Dinner is served buffet style at 6:30pm. In December the Shabbat dinner moves to the overlapping night of Hanukkah. By calling the office during the week you may reserve a table for 8 or for 10, although most families do not.
Please RSVP. Kitchen staff needs your RSVP for a Shabbat Dinner by the Wednesday before so we know how much food to prepare. You can send your reservation by email by clicking HERE.

HIGH HOLY DAYS
The sanctuary swells in size on Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur as Temple Shalom welcomes residents of the area assisted living facilities and all members from any chapter of BBYO to our services. Members of the greater community are welcome to our services as well, but there is a charge.
For security reasons, everyone entering the building for these services must have a ticket. Congregants will have their tickets mailed to their homes in the weeks preceding the holidays. All other requests will be handled by calling the synagogue office. (215)945-4154.

FESTIVALS
Each festival, Sukkot, Pesach, and Shavuot, is celebrated within the congregation as well as in the home. The synagogue erects a large Sukkah in the inner courtyard for services and for religious school activities. All the generations come out for our Simhat Torah services as the children parade around the sanctuary, collecting chocolate treats as they go. The scroll is unfurled as the congregation dances around the sanctuary.
For Pesach, Temple Shalom hosts a Second Seder for the entire community. The seder is kosher and is available at cost per plate. The service is appropriate for families with children, even the smallest ones. In the last ten years, no one has found the affikomen in less than twenty minutes and at least two hints.
The deadline for reservations is absolute because this dinner is catered. Reservation forms will be in Chaverim or you may call the synagogue office six weeks to one month prior to the holiday.
Shavuot is a special time for celebrating with our families whose children have completed ten years of education at the synagogue. The students prepare a special service, which they lead.

HANUKKAH
During Hanukkah, the Snyder Social Hall is alight with the flames of over a hundred different menorahs. A special Shabbat dinner is served and Shabbat services are complimented with a choir concert. The service always closes with some of our students singing fresh, new, and mostly appropriate verses to "I Had a little Dreidel."
